At least three people have been killed and 16 severely injured after a train derailed in southern Germany.
A police spokesperson said the Munich-bound train had been quite full at the time it crashed north of the Bavarian ski resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Around 60 people in total were hurt in the accident, a Garmisch-Partenkirchen district office spokesperson said.
Several school students were on board the train, the local newspaper reported.
Pictures showed carriages of the double-decker regional train stuck between tree branches.
People could also be seen being carried away on stretchers.
Police said a major emergency services operation was underway and the rail line was completely closed.
