Boy George, Mike Tindall and Chris Moyles to star in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! – with bombshell arrivals causing a stir | Ents & Arts News

It’s that time of the year again – when a group of intrepid celebrities head out into the wilderness to battle it out for the chance to be crowned king or queen of the jungle.

Appearing on the show can be both a blessing and a curse, with stars who win over the public getting a career-boost like no other, while those who fail to impress finding themselves relegated to the celebrity scrapheap.

This year, as the show returns to Australia after two years in Wales, former rugby union player Mike Tindall and singer Boy George are among the stars taking their career into their own hands.

We take a look at the confirmed celebrity line-up – plus two bombshell campmates who will be following them into the jungle…

Boy George

Pop Icon Boy George, 61, – whose real name is George Alan O’Dowd – was one of the biggest stars of the 1970s and 1980s, known for his long-braided hair and colourful make up. His hits include Karma Chameleon and Do You Really Want to Hurt Me.

George, who says he’s never been in the jungle before, says fans can expect some Shirley Bassey impressions, lots of dietary advice for his campmates (he’s a vegetarian), and says he’ll definitely be asking them what star sign they are (he’s a Gemini).

Mike Tindall MBE

Ex-England rugby player Mike Tindall, 43, is the first member of the royal family to take part in the show (he’s married to the King’s niece Zara Tindall, and they have three children together).

A Yorkshire lad, Mike, says he’s an “open book” and is actually looking forward to the trials. Clearly a morning person, he says he’ll be keen to get people out of their hammocks and motivated for the day ahead.

Sue Cleaver

Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver, 59, is known for playing Eileen Grimshaw (mum to Jayson and Todd) in the long-running ITV show. She also appeared in Victoria Wood’s Dinnerladies.

Temporarily written out of the show while she’s filming in Australia, like her character Eileen, Sue says she’s a “mum” type, and intends to be “a friendly ear for everyone” in the camp.

Olivia Attwood

Olivia Attwood is no stranger to ITV reality shows, having appeared on The Only Way Is Essex, Love Island and I’m A Celeb spin-off Extra Camp too.

She says fans may be wondering how she’ll cope without her make-up, but insists she’s “happy to muck in”. She promises to be the clown of the camp and will bring a good sense of humour to the show.

Charlene White

Loose Women presenter and ITV newsreader Charlene White, 42, was the first black woman to present ITV News back in 2014.

Contrary to her serious news persona, Charlene says she loves music, dancing and clubbing and is looking forward to the I’m A Celebrity challenge.

Chris Moyles

Radio presenter Chris Moyles, 48, was BBC Radio 1’s longest serving breakfast host. He now works on Radio X.

Known for his strong views, he insists he won’t be the loudest person in the camp and says fans of the show will “get to see a much quieter Chris Moyles”.

Scarlette Douglas

TV presenter and property expert Scarlette Douglas, 37, has hosted A Place In The Sun, George Clarke’s Flipping Fast and Channel 4’s Worst House on the Street.

Born in east London, she can also sing and dance. She says she has an irrational fear of spiders – which doesn’t bode well for some of the trials

Owen Warner, 23, is known for playing Romeo Nightingale in Hollyoaks.

The Leicester-born star is a big football fan so is worried about missing the World Cup while out in the jungle, but says he’ll be organising games and fun while in camp. He’s also warned he’s not the best cook.

Babatúndé Aléshé

Comedian Babatúndé Aléshé is probably best known for sharing his opinions on Celebrity Gogglebox.

The London-born funny man recently won Best Newcomer at the Black Entertainment Comedy Awards and had to postpone his latest tour to appear on the show. He says he’s good at breaking up tension, which fans of the show know is likely to be a useful asset on the campsite.

Jill Scott MBE

Footballer Jill Scott was one of the England Lionesses who took us to Euro glory this year.

England’s second most-capped player, she has now retired from the game, but says she’s looking forward to people getting to know the real person behind her sporting skill.

Plus, a few more for luck?

Every year, the I’m A Celebrity bosses mix it up a bit, throwing in some new campmates part-way through the series.

Former health secretary Matt Hancock, who resigned from his cabinet role after being caught breaking COVID rules by kissing a colleague, will be a latecomer to the show.

The MP looks likely to attract plenty of bushtucker trials.

Plus, stand-up comedian Seann Walsh – best known for the Strictly Come Dancing scandal which ensued in 2018 when he was photographed kissing his dance partner Katya Jones (both were in relationships at the time) – is heavily rumoured to be joining this year’s show too.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! launches on Sunday 6 November at 9pm on ITV.
