The UK could host next year’s Eurovision Song Contest after Ukraine was ruled out, the European Broadcasting Union has announced.
Ukraine was crowned winner of this year’s contest and traditionally would have hosted it in 2023.
But due to the ongoing war the EBU has decided not to host the competition in Ukraine.
“The ESC’s governing board has with deep regret concluded that, given the current circumstances, the security and operational guarantees required for a broadcaster to host, organise and produce the Eurovision Song Contest under the ESC Rules cannot be fulfilled by UA:PBC (Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine).”
