Former boxing world champion Amir Khan has said he was robbed at “gunpoint” while out with his wife in London.
The 35-year-old said he was confronted by two men, one of whom demanded his watch while pointing a gun in his face.
Taking to Twitter to share details of the ordeal, he added that both he and his wife, Faryal Makhdoom, were unharmed.
“Just had my watch taken off me at gunpoint in east London, Leyton,” the former WBA and IBF light-welterweight champion said on Monday night.

“I crossed the road with Faryal, luckily she was a few steps behind me. Two men ran to me, he asked for my watch whilst having a gun pointed in my face.
“The main thing is we’re both safe.”
Fellow boxer and 2014 Commonwealth Games gold medalist Anthony Fowler responded to Khan’s tweet, saying: “Glad your ok mate”.
Back in February, Khan was beaten by his long-time rival Kell Brook and, after the match, he strongly hinted at retiring from the sport.
It marked the sixth defeat of his professional career, which features 34 wins, including 21 by knockout.
He rose to fame in 2004 after winning silver at the Olympics at the age of 17.
Just five years later, Khan became a world champion after beating Andreas Kotelnik.
