Bourne End: Murder investigation launched after three people found dead after ‘targeted attack’ | UK News

A murder investigation has been launched after three people were found dead after a “targeted attack” at a sheltered housing property.

The bodies of a woman in her 60s, a man in his 50s, and another man in his 60s, were found by officers while responding to reports of a disturbance at the home in Buckinghamshire.

Thames Valley Police said all three people were known to each other and evidence suggested a serious assault had occurred inside the accommodation in Spring Gardens, Bourne End.

Although officers have not identified the victims, the next of kin have been informed.

The force added the incident appears to be a “targeted attack” and they are not looking for anyone else in connection with it.

“We are in the very early stages of this investigation and we are dealing with a very complex enquiry,” senior investigating officer Detective Superintendent Kevin Brown said.

‘We are all shocked that this has happened’

A charitable organisation called Red Kite Community Housing confirmed the incident had taken place at Orchard house, which is part of a sheltered accommodation scheme.

In a statement, it said tenants who live at the property are being provided with support to ensure “they feel safe and secure”.

“We are all shocked that this has happened at one of our schemes and will be fully cooperating with the police to help with their investigation,” the association’s head of communications, Julie Gamble-Kempe said.

Sheltered housing is accommodation specifically designed for older or disabled people to allow them to live independently and is usually only available to those aged 55 and over.

Officers have warned residents that an increased police presence is likely to remain in place for a number of days “at the very least”.
