After making a surprise appearance on stage alongside Jeff Beck in Sheffield, Johnny Depp joined the guitar legend again for the second night in a row, amid his ongoing US legal battle.
The jury in the multi-million dollar defamation trial between the actor and his ex-wife, Amber Heard, was sent out to consider its verdicts on Friday.
Just 48 hours later, Depp turned up at Sheffield City Hall to play on Beck’s European tour.
Concertgoers had hoped the actor would appear at the Royal Albert Hall in west London last night – and he did, with the pair reportedly playing again their 2020 collaboration Isolation, a cover of the song John Lennon released in 1970.
Footage of Depp singing and playing the guitar was posted on social media, showing audience members cheering and applauding the Hollywood star.
“He came knocking on my dressing room door about five years ago, and we haven’t stopped laughing since,” said Beck in one video.
“We kept it quiet because… obvious reasons… here he is.”
Angela Flannery, 38, from Southend-on-Sea was at the concert and said: “I was pretty shocked.
“(I have) always been a massive fan of his. My other half took me to this gig just to see Jeff Beck, I had no idea Johnny would be playing.
“It was brilliant, such a fantastic night in general… a special mention to the drummer girl, she was absolutely amazing (and) Johnny Depp smashed it.
“I’ll die happy (that) I’ve been in the same room as him now.”
The 58-year-old Pirates Of The Caribbean star’s appearance in the UK has surprised many as he awaits the verdict in his lawsuit with Heard.
Depp is suing Heard for $50m over an article she wrote in The Washington Post in 2018 in which she described herself as “a public figure representing domestic abuse”.

The article does not mention Depp by name, however his lawyers say it falsely implies he physically and sexually abused the Aquaman actress while they were together.
Heard, 36, has counter-sued her ex-husband for $100m after his lawyer called her allegations a hoax.
