A US TV journalist is recovering after being struck in the head by a baseball travelling at 95mph.
Major League Baseball reporter Kelsey Wingert was covering the game between the Colorado Rockies and the San Francisco Giants when she was hit.
Ms Wingert, 29, who covers the Rockies for AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain, later shared a photo of her injury on Twitter and said she spent five hours in hospital getting checked over.
“I had [a] CT scan to check for internal bleeding/fractures and it came back clear, Thank God,” she wrote.
“I received internal & external stitches. I’ve been staying at my GM’s house. I can’t say enough about AT&TSN & the Rox. I’ve never experienced support like this.
“Thank you for the prayers.”
Wingert was hit by a foul off the bat of Giants player Austin Slater in the ninth inning. She had been sitting in the first-base camera well.
But it’s not the first time she has been hit while working.
Ms Wingert also was hit by a foul ball in 2018, when she was covering the Atlanta Braves for Fox Sports South. She suffered a broken right eye socket from the ball, hit by Odubel Herrera of the Philadelphia Phillies.
