3rd Test – India’s Predicted XI – Scooptimes

After Sri Lanka managed to draw the first test against India in Kolkata, Team India beat Sri Lanka by an innings and 239 runs in the second test in Nagpur. The brilliant performance from both batsmen and bowlers helped India to bounce back in the second test.

While India scored huge 610 runs in the first innings, Sri Lanka managed to score just 205 and 166 runs in the first and second innings respectively. After this Sri Lanka series, India will face South Africa in january 2018. Ahead of the big challenging series, Indian team trying to keep their good form in the 3rd test against Sri Lanka.

KL Rahul

When every Indian players performed in the second test, KL Rahul failed to perform as he scored just 7 runs. But, he is cemented his place in the Indian test team. He will play in the third test to showcase his talent ahead of the tough tour in South Africa.

Murali Vijay

The tamilnadu player Murali Vijay is one of the important player in the Indian test team. He made his comeback to Indian test team after 8 months, but he score much needed century in the second test against Sri Lanka. He is one of the best Test player, so Indian team will prefer Murali Vijay ahead of Shikhar Dhawan ahead of the South Africa tour.

Cheteshwar Pujara

One of the best test player of India, Cheteshwar Pujara failed to make a impact in the first test, but he scored mammoth 143 runs in the second test. He is one of the batsman who can perform well even in overseas conditions.

Virat Kohli (Captain)

The skipper of Indian team, Virat Kohli has been in tremendous form in International cricket. He scored a century in the first innings before smashing double century in the second innings of second test. With this double century, he created and broken many world records. It may be his last match in this year for Virat Kohli as he was rested for the ODI series against Sri Lanka.

Ajinkya Rahane

The vice-captain of the Indian test team, Ajinkya Rahane is one of the best Test cricketer. But he failed to perform in the first two tests against Sri Lanka. Ahead of the difficult series in South Africa, he need to get back his form in the third test against Sri Lanka.

Rohit Sharma

The limited-overs format opener Rohit Sharma made his comeback to the Test team after one year. Just like Murali Vijay, he smashed a terrific hundred in the second test against Sri Lanka. Team management likely to retain him for the 3rd test ahead of the South Africa tour.

Wriddhiman Saha (Wicket-Keeper)

After Ms Dhoni’s retirement, Saha cemented the wicket-keeper batsman place in the Test team. He is doing great job behind the stumps and performs with bat whenever his team needed. He surely play the last game of the test series against Sri Lanka.

Ravichandran Ashwin

At the moment, Ravi Ashwin is one of the best spinner in the world. The man who went wicketless in the first test, picked 8 wickets in the second test to become the fastest bowler to take 300 test wickets.

Ravindra Jadeja

Just like Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja went wicketless in the first test against Sri Lanka in Nagpur before picking 5 wickets in the second test. He need to perform well in the third test to select in the South Africa series.

Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami is one of the key player for the Indian test team. Ahead of the tough challenge series in South Africa, he need a match to practice against Sri Lanka.

Umesh Yadav

Umesh Yadav has a ability to bowl fast deliveries with his good height. Just like other fast bowlers, he will have a huge role in the South Africa series.
