Ms Dhoni
If BCCI impose teams to retain only one player then CSK will go with Ms Dhoni without any other choice. Ms Dhoni played for Chennai Super Kings since the inaugural edition of Indian Premier League before playing for Rising Pune Supergiant in 2016 and 2017 season. Under his captaincy, Chennai Super Kings claimed two Indian Premier league trophies and they also won Champions League T20 title.
He has played some brilliants knocks as a batsman and affected many wickets as a wicket-keeper. The Chennai Super Kings franchise will desperate to retain him for IPL 2018.

Suresh Raina
Suresh Raina is the biggest asset for Chennai Super Kings franchise after Ms Dhoni. Suresh Raina played for Chennai Super Kings since the inaugural edition of IPL before he captained Gujarat Lions.
He never fails to contribute his team. He will contribute either as a batsman or a fielder. He played some brilliant knocks for Chennai Super Kings. Raina scoring 350+ runs in every IPL season since the first IPL.

Ravindra Jadeja
As per rules, a team can retain a maximum of 3 uncapped players. If they retain Ms Dhoni and Suresh Raina, they will select any one of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravi Ashwin. Jadeja can play some big shots and take some crucial wickets. Jaddu has played for Rajasthan, Kochi before coming to Chennai Super Kings. If he fails with both bat and ball, he will contribute with his fielding. So, surely they will retain Jadeja instead of Ashwin for the next season of IPL.
Brendon McCullum
One of the destructive opener from New Zealand, Brendon McCullum has played for Kolkata and Kochi before making his debut for Chennai Super Kings. He has huge followers in Tamil Nadu after joining Chennai Super Kings. His batting style troubles the opposition bowlers.
Bazz played for Gujarat Lions for the last two season after CSK was suspended for two years. He is scoring more than 300 plus runs in last four season. As this is the batsmen game, they would like retain him for the next season.
Dwayne Bravo
The West Indies’ all-rounder Dwayne Bravo was one of the important player for Chennai Super Kings before the franchise was suspended. Bravo joined Chennai Super Kings in 2011 after playing 3 seasons for Mumbai Indians. In 2013 season, Bravo picked 32 wickets for CSK and became a owner of Orange cap. In 2015 IPL, he once again won Orange cap after taking 26 wickets in that season.
Even in critical stage, he takes wicket without conceding much runs and also he contribute with his bat. Bravo won many matches for Chennai Super Kings, so CSK will surely retain him.
