Afghanistan squad announced for World Cup and Asia Cup in Bangladesh which will be played in February.
Afghanistan has been included the pace pair of Hamid Hassan and Shapoor Zadran for the T20 World Cup which starts in India. Hamid Hassan, though, is not a part of the squad for Asia Cup in Bangladesh. Yamin Ahmadzai replaces Hassan’s place in the squad for the Asia Cup. Ahmadzai made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe in the five-match ODI series last year December. Ahmadzai made his T20 debut against Oman in last year November. Hassan has been recovering from the injury and is expected to be fit for World Cup.
Shapoor Zadran played his last match for Afghanistan last october against Zimbabwe and Hamid Hassan played his last match in July last year.
Since 2014 World T20, they lost just 2 matches out of 13 T20 matches and won the series against Zimbabwe. They will face Oman, UAE and Hong Kong to qualify for Asia Cup on February 19 and February 22. Afghanistan then will take on Hong Kong, Scotland and Zimbabwe in the World T20 Qualifier. If they top in Qualifier group, they will enter into Super 10s and they will play with South Africa, West Indies, Sri Lanka and England.
