Incessant rainfall in Chennai for past one week has looted the whole city which affects millions of people daily life. Almost 70% of Chennai submerged in water and cut offs more than three million people from basic services and disrupted power supplies. Schools, colleges and offices at the entire city has been shut down for past 8 days.
With this huge disaster, many people all over the India came up to help floods affect victims. Volunteers and companies have responded by using online tools such as Google documents and social networks like Facebook and Twitter to organise their own crisis response, with some setting up dedicated online resources to help others in need.
People sent foods and other temporary usage reliefs from various part of Tamil Nadu to the capital city. Apart from the public, many politicians and celebrities help people for immediate relief.
After the involvement of many celebrities all over the south India in flood relief, The oscar musician AR Rahman has now come forward to lend his support. He donates an amount of Rs. 25 Lakhs to the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund.
Tamil actors Siddharth, RJ Balaji, Dhanush and Vishal joined with volunteers and worked in the rain-affected part and also supplied huge relief materials with their team. Apart from Tamil celebrities, some of the leading tollywood and mollywood actors donate fund for Chennai floods relief.
