Bangladesh cricketer Arafat Sunny arrested by Bangladesh police on charges of creating a fake Facebook profile and uploading intimate pictures clicked along with his Girl friend.
Bangladesh Police raided the left-arm bowler Arafat Sunny’s home after his long time girlfriend filed a complaint against him two weeks ago.
“She said Sunny opened up a fake Facebook account of hers and posted their personal photos, which she found offensive and defamatory,” said Mir. “We have arrested him and sent him to the court, seeking to take him into custody for five days for questioning.”
He could face up to 14 years in jail or a fine of 10 million taka if found guilty under controversial law.
“It seems to be a personal matter. We don’t want to comment now, however, we are observing (the situation),” said Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury.
Arafat Sunny has played 16 ODIs and grabed 24 wickets and played 10 T20Is and picked up 12 wickets. He was suspended from the International cricket for an illegal bowling action during 2016 World T20 tournament. Arafat Sunny is the third Bangladeshi players to be arrested after Rubel Hossain and Shahadat Hossain.
