After India’s loss in the first test against Australia, Australia coach Lehmann warns Virat Kohli and his co. He said that he would want his team to replicate a similar performance.
Steve O’Keefe, who took 12 wickets in the first test, was the star player of his team. With his spin, Australia defeated India with more than 2 days to spare. The second test of the four-match Test series to be played at Bangalore on March 4.
“Great result, really impressed with our batting,” said Lehmann. “It’s a challenge for both sides. We learned some lessons from Sri Lanka. A challenge to replicate that in Bangalore. We spoke about good defence and take on the game when you can.”
Nathan Lyon, who enjoyed the bowling in the Pune test, talks about R Ashwin.
“Our plan was to compete hard, we did. We saw a lot of Ashwin, and we tried to replicate what he does in these conditions. Great, I’ll take this pitch everywhere,” said Lyon.
No wonder, O’Keefe was awarded Man of the Match for his 12 wickets. But, he praised the batsmen for adapting well in this pitch.
“A first innings was a bit of blur. The ball tended to skid on more than spin so it exposed the stumps and the LBW. My first six wickets was ordinary, I had to change it up quickly. Our batters worked really hard not to get beaten on one edge,” O’Keefe said.
