Pakistan announces the squad for ICC T20 World Cup and Asia Cup.
Pakistan’s 15 member squad announced for T20 World Cup and Asia Cup. The Asia Cup will be held in Bangladesh and India. The selectors ignored Ahmed Shehzad after a poor form.
Pakistan’s opener Ahmed Shehzad managed to score just 33 runs in three match T20I series against New Zealand in New Zealand last month. And They made four changes in the squad.
Haroon Rasheed selected the squad after considering the conditions in World Cup hosts India. Haroon Rasheed said,”While picking the squad, the team management and skipper were consulted by the selectors, and all concerned gave their consent in this regard.”
“The T20 team has been selected keeping in mind the conditions and the recent performances of some players in domestic and A team tours. The team is a fine blend of experience and youth and the selectors believe that team will do well in both tournaments,” he added.
Khurram Manzoor, who had played 16 Tests and 7 ODI’s for Pakistan, has been included in the squad for World Cup and Asia Cup. He scored 309 runs in Pakistan’s T20 Cricket with a strike rate of over 130 which earned him the place in the world cup squad.
Left-hand fast bowler Rumman Raees and Spinning all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz also included in the squad after their brilliant performances in domestic cricket.
The Asia cup will be played from February 24 to March 6 following the T20 World Cup which will start from March 8 in India.
