Popular Tamil Director Sundar C’s ambitious project Sangamithra has been launched in Cannes 2017. The film starring Jayam Ravi, Arya and Shruthi Haasan in lead roles and music to compose by AR Rahman.

Sangamithra to bankroll by Sri Thenandal Films. According to the source, The movie is budget quoted around Rs. 300 crores. Which is going to made in two parts.
Sri Thenandal Films was found by late director Rama Narayanan in 1976. The production house own some of the biggest release in hand. Currently they bankroll Vijay – Atlee next and AR Rahman’s directional debut ‘Le Musk’.
The team planned to launch the film in Cannes Film Festivel 2017. The leading cast & crew of Sangamithra, Director Sundar C, AR Rahman, Jayam Ravi, Arya, Shruthi Haasan, Kushboo and others.

Speaking about the project Direct Sundar says, “Bahubali took south Indian cinema to the national level. Sanghamitra will take it to the global league. That is what we are aiming at and that is why we are in Cannes to launch the film.”
Reportedly, Sangamithra is story hapening in 8th Century AD, narrating tribulations and trials of protagonist Sanghamithra. It is an account of numerous kingdoms, numerous conditions, numerous connections, told in an eager, overwhelming, outwardly lavish way.
