Touted to be commercial entertainer, Theri directed by Atlee and produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu. The star cast includes Vijay, Samatha and Amy Jackson in lead roles. The sound track and background score of Theri composed by GV Prakash Kumar and Cinematography handled by George C. Williams.

The shooting of Theri has been wrapped on January 2016. The post production work to commence soon after completion of filming. Reportly, The makers planning for earlier 2016 release.
