CSK vs RCB (IPL 2012) – 43 Needed in the last Two overs

It was the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai in IPL 5. RCB scored 206 runs in 20 overs in 1st innings. CSK were chasing a huge total of 206 runs, Faf du Plessis scored 71 runs off 46 balls and gave a good start. When CSK needed 43 runs in last 2 overs, left-hander Albie Morkel smashed 3 sixes, 2 fours and ran a two in the 18th over. In the last over, CSK needed 15 runs. Morkel got out in the 2nd ball and Super Kings needed 14 off four balls. Dwayne Bravo smashed a huge six in the no-ball. Last 2 runs needed in the last ball, Jadeja edged the ball and it went to four.

DC v MI (IPL 2012) – 18 needed in the last over

In the 5th season of IPL, Mumbai Indians needed 18 runs in the last over against Deccan Chargers at Vizag. DC’s Dan Christian was bowled the last over and Rohit Sharma hit 2 big sixes to script a sensational triumph. Rohit Sharma remained unbeaten on 73 off 50 balls includes 4 fours and 5 sixes.

DC v KKR (IPL 2009) – 21 needed in the last over

Rohit Sharma helped Deccan Chargers by scoring 21 runs in the last over against Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2nd season of IPL. Mortaza was bowling the last over, first ball was no-ball but it went to four. Rohit Sharma hit 2 fours and a six in the last over and remained unbeaten on 26(13).

RCB v PWI (IPL 2012) – 21 needed in the last over

Pune Warriors India scored 182 runs in 20 overs against Royal Challengers Bangalore with the help of Robin Uthappa’s 69 run. RCB opener Chris Gayle gave a flying start as he scored 48-ball 81 runs. However, the middle order batsmen failed to contribute. In the last over, RCB needed 21 runs, Tiwary gave the strike to AB De Villiers. AB De Villiers, who was in terrific form, had hit a four and few sixes. With 3 runs needed in the last ball, Tiwary smashed a boundary to clinch the victory.

RPS v KXIP (IPL 2016) – 23 needed in the last over

In IPL 2016, it was the match between Rising Pune Supergiants and Kings XI Punjab. It was the last match for the both team, both teams fighted to avoid the last place in the table. KXIP posted a total of 173 runs. In reply, RPS openers gave a good start but they needed 23 runs in the last over. Axar Patel, who bowled the last over, Ms Dhoni destroyed him with couple of big sixes. Ms Dhoni remained unbeaten on 32-ball 64 runs. It was considered as one of the best finishes in IPL history.
