Born on 19 September 1968 in Theni, Tamil Nadu, India. His original name is Ramakrishnan. He completed his schooling in his native place and landed to chennai for a job. Changed his name for movies. He is married to Anandhi and the couple has a daughter and son named Shravan.

With lot of passion in acting, He get a chance to feature in small roles in earlier days. Made his debut in Udan Pirappu which wasa directed by P. Vasu and played a cameo role.

Later he appeared in some noticed charaters in the movies Karuththamma as Bus Conductor, Chellakannu as Barber, Avvai Shanmugi as Flower Decorator. He has played nearly 10 movies every year in some lead comedian roles or some important character role.

With his impressive performance, he has garnered good response from audience and signed back to back films over years. he acted along with all top heros of tamil cinema including Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Vijay, Ajith, Suriya, Vikram and more.

He is one of the participant in Tamil Bigg Boss show. The reality game show which is started with 15 contestants including celebrity and non-celebrity members in house. He seems uncomfortable in the competition right from the day one and badly wanting to go out. However, he successfully in house even after sixth week.
