India beat Pakistan by 5 wickets in the Asia Cup. Virat Kohli played brilliantly and took his team close to win but was given out on 49. Umpire given out lbw despite the ball was taken the edge of Virat’s bat. The ICC (International Cricket Council) fined 30% for Virat Kohli of his match fee for showing dispute.
After the match, the match referee Jeff Crowe called Virat Kohli and Kohli accepted the fine.
The player was found to have breached Article 2.1.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during an international match”.
ICC stated,“The incident happened in the 15th over of India’s innings when Kohli, after being given out leg before, displayed dissent by first showing his bat and then leaving the crease while looking back at the umpire and uttering some words that were contrary to the spirit of the game.”
Television replays that Virat Kohli had inside edge of the Mohammad Sami’s delivery in the 15th over of the Indian innings but was still given out.
Virat was batting on 49 and looked to score fifty but unfortunately he was given out by the umpire’s wrong decision. He showed his batting class to the world by scoring 49 runs in critical pressure. After he goes to pavilion, Ms Dhoni was the next man and he finished the match with a four. India won the match by 5 wickets.
