Singer Nick Cave has announced that his son Jethro has died – just seven years after his teenage son Arthur died after falling off a cliff.

In a statement, he said: “With much sadness, I can confirm that my son, Jethro, has passed away.

“We would be grateful for family privacy at this time.”

Jethro was jailed in April for violently assaulting his mother and was also convicted of attacking a girlfriend in 2018.

His lawyers in the recent case argued he was suffering from schizophrenia that had affected his judgement.

He was reportedly only released from jail a few days ago.

The 30-year-old had worked as a model and also did some acting.

The Australian musician’s 15-year-old son, Arthur, died in 2015 when he fell off a cliff in East Sussex after taking LSD.

Cave, 64, is best known as lead singer of alternative group Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.

He’s also dueted with the likes of Kylie Minogue, Johnny Cash, Debbie Harry and Shane MacGowan.
