Hafeez ruled out of limited-overs series against West Indies – Scooptimes

Pakistan opener Mohammad Hafeez has been ruled out of the limited-over series against the West Indies due to a calf muscle injury and is a far fetched starter for the Test matches in the UAE next month.

Mohammad Hafeez, who had to return home from the England tour after the first ODI match due to the calf muscle injury, has been advised by doctor to take rest for further three weeks to complete his restoration process.

“He is undergoing a rehab programme at the national cricket academy but needs a further three weeks to make a complete recovery,” said Dr Muhammad Riaz, who is on the Pakistan Cricket Board medical panel.

“The selectors believe that Hafeez’s utility to the team is only complete if he can bowl again. Because his batting form has not been impressive in recent months,” he said.

As per reports, Hafeez to become a test captain for Pakistan, but Mickey Arthur and Inzamam-ul-haq had built up a decent working relationship and were taking choices on the group choice altogether. “Both are not very happy with Hafeez’s form or attitude towards his bowling test,” he said.
