Rohit Sharma reprimanded for showing dissent – Scooptimes

Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma reprimanded for showing his dissent to the umpire after adjudging him as LBW in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders. After Ms Dhoni, Rohit Sharma is the second Indian player to be reprimanded by the match referee in IPL 10.

Skipper Rohit Sharma came to crease at number 4 in the game against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday. With already Mumbai Indians lost their openers and the required rate was high, the full pressure was on Rohit Sharma.

KKR’s Sunil Narine bowled the 10th over of the 2nd innings. Rohit Sharma tried to hit the ball but failed, the ball took the inside half of Rohit’s bat and then touched Rohit’s pads. When all KKR players started appealing, umpire C.K. Nandan failed to notice the edge. C.K. Nandan raised his finger toward the sky. Rohit Sharma was not happy with the decision and shouted towards the umpire for his wrong judgement.

As per the BCCI inputs, ”Rohit Sharma, the Mumbai Indians captain, was reprimanded by the match referee for showing excessive, obvious disappointment with an Umpire’s decision during his team’s contest against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium”.

”Mr Sharma admitted to the Level 1 offence 2.1.5 of the IPL Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials. For Level 1 breaches of the IPL Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding”, the BCCI statement added.

At one stage, KKR almost won the game but the youngsters of Mumbai Indians smashed the KKR’s bowlers. Nithish Rana and Hardik Pandya led their team to a victory against KKR.
