Born on 26th of April,1973 in Seithur near Rajapalayam,Tamil Nadu. He completed his B.Sc bachelor degree in Mathematics in Rajapalayam Rajus college and Bachelor of Law in Ambedhkar Law college in Chennai. After completing his studies he entered cinema with lot of ambition to emerge as a famous artist.
But to the contrary he faced up with many crisis for his physique to adapt acting. He didn’t give up. He got a chance in Pandiarajan’s ‘Padikkira Vayasu’ just to utter a single line.

P.Samuthirakani,a director cum film actor is well known in Tamil industry besides Malayalam.
He first started to work as an assistant to the well known famous director K.Balachander.
The movie Nadodigal which was directed by him came to screen by the year 2009 and became a massive hit which then was remade to three other languages.
Then he joined as an assistant director to a budding director K Vijayan in 1997.
Samuthirakani was noticed by the famous director who was lately called Iyakkunar Sigaram K Balachander for keeping himself busy in the field.
After that Samuthirakani was roped into his 100th project ‘Paarthale Paravasam’.
He then had a chance to appear in mega serials Anni,Arasi and Selvi as Balachander’s assistant. These serials were a blockbuster hit among the housewives.
After that he started to write scenes and dialogues which made him feel his inner potential as a storyteller.
From mega serials to the director of films his egoless work proved astonishingly great.His works such as ‘Unnai Charan Adainthen’ ‘Kani’ are remarkable.
His famous saying during the time was “If a project is hit it gets laurels and if negative the director is the bearer”.
He then worked as assistant of director Ameer for Paruthiveeran.
The golden moment arrived where director Sasikumar gave him a solid role in Subramaniapuram which proved him a potential actor followed by Eesan and Porali.
The artist made a marvelous role as a police officer in the movie Visaranai which gifted him the Best Character Artist Award from Ananda Vikatan.
