After kollywood witnessed 200+ films in 2015, the new year to kick start with some interesting releases. One of the major festival which celebrated all over south india is Pongal, which extended up to four days in tamil nadu. For every year most of the big films eyeing for Pongal release, despite 2016 to go without any Thala and Thalapathy movie. With the space open, Five anticipated tamil movie set to gear up for Pongal 2015 release.
1.) Rajini Murugan
Sivakarthiyan starred Rajini Murugan finally gets official release date. Produced by Thirupathi brothers, Rajini Murugan faced some financial issues in earlier 2015 which made the film postpone to 2016. Now the movie to release on Pongal 2016, starring Keerthi Suresh and Soori in important roles.
2.) Tharai Thappattai
Director Bala’s Tharai Thappattai gearing up for Pongal 2016 release. Starring Sasi Kumar and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in lead roles, Tharai Thappattai musical by Isaignani Illayaraja. After Paradesi in earlier 2014, Bala set to release his next for the eve of Pongal.
3.) Aranmani 2
Sundar C’s horror-comedy thriller ‘Aranmani 2’ joins the Pongal 2016 race. The film made with huge star cast which ensemble Siddharth, Trisha, Hansika, Poonam Bhajwa, Soori and Kovai Sarala in important roles. From the musical of Hip hop Tamizha, Aranmani 2 songs already declared as Chart buster hit.
4.) Kathakali
On making the list more interesting, Puratchi Thalapathy Vishal confirmed his participation in Pongal 2016 releases. Directed by Pandiraj, ‘Kathakali’ slated for January 14th release worldwide. Catherine Tresa playing as female lead in Kathakali.
5.) Gethu
Gethu, written and directed by Thirukumaran, starring Udhayanidhi Stalin and Amy Jackson in the leading roles set to release on Pongal 2016. Musical by Harris Jayaraj, The film produced by Red Giant movies.
