Shweta started her career as an actress and went to modeling. She earned a chance to make a debut in Bollywood for her effort in modeling. She has appeared in more than 25 movies in Bollywood and received several awards for her acting skills.
She made her Malayalam debut with Anaswaram in the year 1991. She won the third runner-up in the Miss India contest in 1994. Modeling earned her a chance to make a debut in Bollywood and her first Hindi film was Prithvi in 1997.
