ICC has banned Star South African Player Banned for Two Matches. South Africa pacer Kagiso Rabada has been banned for two matches by ICC against Australia for improper activity on field. Rabada was found guilty of abusive and deliberate physical contact after taking Australia’s captain Steve Smith’s wicket. In the ongoing series, South Africa has won in the second Test.
After disobeying the charge, in the disciplinary hearing, he was imposed a fine of 50 percent on match fees and three dimitre points were given, which resulted in his total eight digit mark. Because of this, he was banned for two matches on his own. Rabada said, ‘I have to stop myself from doing this. I am throwing down the team and myself with my actions. ‘
On the third day of the match, Australian vice-captain David Warner was forced to come near his face and shout loudly, which he accepted. In this case he was fined 15 percent of match fee and a decimal number. Match referee Jeff Crowe said, “I found that Rabada and Smith had physical contact and in my opinion Rabada’s doing was improper and it was deliberate. They had an opportunity to avoid contact and I did not find any proof that this happened accidentally. ”
Cricket South Africa immediately announced that they have 48 hours to appeal against this decision and they are taking legal opinion in this regard. The ICC also announced a fine on Australia’s Mitchell Marsh who, after being dismissed by Rabada, accepted the charge of using ‘hate speech’. 20 percent of their fees will be deducted and the dematriot scores will be added to their account.
