Australia knock Pakistan out of T20 World Cup – Scooptimes

Pakistan were knocked out of the T20 World Cup 2016 while Australia hoping to reaching Semi-final.

Australia setting up a virtual quarter final against India to be played on Sunday. Steve Smith and Shane Watson scored 61 and 44 respectively and they hammered the Pakistan bowling attack as they scored 74 off the last 38 deliveries. Finally, Australia posted a big total of 193/4.

Pakistan started to chase this huge target and once again Pakistan opener Ahmed Shehzad failed to give better start to his team as he scored just 1 in 6 balls. Sharjeel Khan, who smashed six fours, has scored 30 off just 19 deliveries.

Umar Akmal and Khalid Latif added 45 runs for the third wicket and Adam Zampa broken their partnership by removing Umar Akmal. Afridi, in what could be his final knock before retirement, departed in his usual style, having got out stumped after smashing 14 off 7 balls.

Latif and Shoaib Malik scored 69 off the last 5 over. But, they failed to chase this total. James Faulkner picked up 5 wickets, they are Sharjeel Khan, Khalid Latif, Imad Wasim, Srafraz Ahmed and Wahab Riaz. James Faulkner is the first bowler to take a fifer in shortest format of cricket.
