Mohammad Shami eyeing to make a comeback in 3rd test – Scooptimes

Mohammad Shami is eyeing to make a comeback in the test series against Australia. The 3rd test match of the series starts on March 16 at Ranchi. Inclusion of Shami, will increase the strength of India’s bowling.

Shami to play the Bengal’s final Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Gujarat at Chepauk on March 6. He will play the 3rd test against Australia, if the seamer feels that he is fully fit.

“I am eagerly looking at making a comeback to the Test side. I wanted to test my fitness level and so I am here. It also gives me a chance to play for my state side for the first time this season.”

“I am feeling good. But then, when you are playing your first match after injury, you might feel a bit of discomfort. So I will need to see how I feel when I give my 100 percent.”

Mohammad Shami was injured during the Mohali test against England and he was ruled out since then. During last week, Shami was practiced with the Indian team at the NCA. Coach Anil Kumble seems happy for Shami’s fitness. And Kumble also asked him to play a match before 3rd test against Australia.

“I was also practicing with the Indian team when I was at the NCA last week. I had a chat with (coach) Anil Kumble and he seemed happy with my fitness. But he too had asked me to play a match before my body can take the grind of a Test match.”
