Rohit Sharma smashes Suranga Lakmal by hitting four sixes in a row – Scooptimes

The Indian captain Rohit Sharma smashed hit third double hundred in One-day International game and shattered several records in a must win game against Sri Lanka. After losing the first ODI against Sri Lanka in Dharmashala, the skipper Rohit Sharma was in no mood to give away his wicket. Team India posted a huge total of 392 runs for 4 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. But, the highlight is Rohit Sharma’s four consecutive sixes in an over of Suranga Lakmal.

The skipper, who gone for just 2 runs in the first game, started this innings slowly. The ball swung a little bit at the start. Then Rohit slowly accelerated his innings as he scored a century in 115 balls.

Suranga Lakmal, the speedster of Sri Lankan team bowled the 44th over of the innings and was destroyed by Indian skipper. In the first ball of the 44th over, Shreyas Iyer took a single. After completing a century, Rohit Sharma was trying to hit everyball out of the park.

Lakmal tried yorkers but Rohit Sharma picked that deliveries as toss and hit over the park. He hit the first six to deep mid-wicket and went for 3 more consecutive sixes. The swashbuckling opener scored his brilliant third double hundred in the ODI history.

The likes of Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer played very brilliantly. After giving a good start to Indian team, Dhawan gone for 68 runs. Then Iyer joined with Rohit and plundered 88 runs and missed well-deserved century.
