This is why BCCI selected Parthiv instead of Rishabh Pant

Currently India is playing the five-match Test series against England in India. After a drawn in Rajkot and 267-run victory in Vizag, India is leading the Test series by 1-0. The 3rd Test is to be played in Mohali starts on November 26.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was injured during New Zealand series, has been recalled to the team in place of Gautam Gambhir. But, yesterday another sad news came from Indian Team that wicket-keeper Saha ruled out for third test due to Thigh injury.

BCCI announced the replacement for Saha for the third test within few hours. They named Parthiv Patel as replacement for Parthiv Patel. He last played in Test for India was against Sri Lanka in 2008 and his last ODI was also against Sri Lanka in 2012.

But, the questions were arising from Indian fans regarding the selection of Parthiv Patel instead of Rishabh Pant. Rishabh Pant, who is in terrific form in Ranji Trophy, has scored 874 runs for Delhi. The reason for selecting Parthiv Patel instead of Rishabh Pant revealed by sources.

Reports said,“For Delhi’s young Wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant, It is not logistically possible to reach Mohali from Wayanad, Kerala where he is currently playing a Ranji Trophy match, before 25th late evening after completing the match on 24th.”

“Pant, Who is currently topping the run charts in the Ranji Trophy with 874 runs, would have to travel to either Kochi or Thiruvannanthapuram by road from Waynad, and then take a flight to Delhi followed by another connecting flight to Chandigarh in order to reach Mohali.”

Parthiv Patel’s comeback will increase the batting strength. Parthiv Patel is the highest run getter for Gujarat in the Ranji Trophy. He scores 61, 53, 60, 21, 49 and 139* in the last six innings.
