During the second innings, Virat Kohli earned more respect for his gesture.

Virat Kohli who got out on duck in the first innings of the first test against Sri Lanka, went to score another test century in the second innings. The remainings overs became an issue for India to winning that match. When he was just 14 short to score his another ton, he never thought about personal records. He signalled Indian coach Ravi Shastri and asked ‘Shall I declare now?’.

Kohli signalled Shastri in an animated way before shastri made a signal with his fingers, perhaps telling the skipper to score 20 more runs. But he did not much deliveries to complete his 18th test century as he reached with a massive six.

With this century, Kohli created many records in the International Cricket.

– He became the second Indian batsman to score 50 International Centuries.

– Overall, he became the eighth player to score 50 centuries in International cricket.

– He is in the sixth spot in the list of most test centuries scored by Indians.

– He became the joint-fastest batsman to score 50 International centuries (348 innings with Hashim Amla).
