Another record is waiting for Team India at Eden Gardens: Currently, India is playing 500th test match but they celebrations are not over yet and Team India is set to achieve another milestone. The second test between India and New Zealand to be played at Eden Gardens, it will be the 250th match for Team India on home soil. It will also be the 501th Test match for Team India.
So far, India has played 249 Test matches on home soil and the rest of 251 matches have been played outside the home soil. The ratio of matches played by India in home and outside home is almost same i.e. 50% but, the percentage of home Test matches will increase in next 6 monthes as India is to play 12 more Test matches in India.

The Eden Garden Test will be a memorable one as India playing their 250th Test match on home soil. Cricket association of Bengalis also set to make this occasion a historic one “We just got a confirmation that this will be the 250th Test match on Indian soil which makes it historic and special,” CAB joint-secretary Avishek Dalmiya said.
