If selectors want to select you, you need to perform well on the field. Gautham Gambhir is going through a similar phase, but he was ignored by the selectors. He is one of the key player for Team India in half of the last decade. He played an important role in T20I World Cup 2007 and 2011 World Cup and helped to Indian team to win the World Cup’s by his brilliant knock.

After 2011 World Cup, he lost his form and he was dropped from the team. He last played for India at the Oval in 2014 and managed to score only 3 runs in two innings. Since then, he was ignored by the selectors. But since then, he consistently performed in T20 tournaments. He continued his brilliant form in Indian Premier League too still did not get a call from BCCI selectors.

However, he played in brilliant way in the Duleep Trophy, Indian fans were expecting him to be included in the squad for the New Zealand Series after Dhawan’s poor performance.
